Hi all,
had a replacement modem arrive today and proceeded to connect, which then led me to reset all the outside cameras , obviously the PC's , 3d printer and smart plugs. Only thing left to do is the Solar!
And I cannot find out how it's done?
I left it upto the engineer to connect it and have nothing at hand to read with the brain I've got!
Is there an easy method?

Thanks for the info, but the dongle WiFi password is not the same as the dongle, which means that I cannot open the WiFi.
neil_hartup you need to open your wifi connections on your phone, tablet or PC , and log onto the dongle (which shows similarly to your wifi router), which will be a separate WiFi source. Once you've logged on, follow the instructions in the earlier post.
neil_hartup The dongle wifi password might have been set to either the serial number of the inverter, or whatever the password was for your old wifi setup.

Well great the password is the inverter serial number. I put the number into the laptop, and it came back saying the security of the dongle is old and not secure, due to be phased out. It's only a year old.
neil_hartup yes, that’s just the way it is with the givenergy wifi dongles. But the only time you need to connect to the dongle is during this setup process.
Well be a persistent person, I've given it another go and I'm at tge rebooting stage, so fingers crossed.
While it's supposed to be rebooting, my PC keeps defaulting to my broadband, so I'm sure that stops the process.
neil_hartup Think you'll find that as it reboots, the PC just looses signal to the dongle and re-finds your router while the dongle fires up again, but if you reconnect to the dongle after a minute or so, it should automatically connect.

I had the same issue a few months ago and was very uneasy about the risk of my system becoming unavailable.
I found and watched the video from GivEnergy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9a7sDsiK0s&t=168s) and it all went very smoothly.
I still think the simplest route unless your paranoid about who has historically had access to your wifi, is to just change the wifi settings on the new router to old ssid and old password - I have way too many smart devices to go round changing wifi setups and use spare wifi for guests to protect it as such.
I hadn't thought of doing that. I only have four devices that need changing so it is not too much trouble, but I may try that the next time I change my brodband supplier.
DreadorUK hmmm I have a memory that this didn't work for me and I still needed to reset the dongle connection.
Technically it should work as simple as that so certainly worth doing.
If get on my PC I will try and find the thread when I had issues...

Yep last year the above thread covers what happened.
I got fed up of new routers from my ISPs. Each seemed to have worse Wifi performance. Devices 2m away would go offline with the the worst one. I now use a Google Nest mesh system for Wifi throughout my home and just use the router provided by the ISP as a modem. That means I don't have to reprogram all my devices and the ISP router is not taxed as it only does the ADSL. Wifi is disabled and the only Ethernet device plugged in is the Google router.
nophead I did the same except my Mesh is Mercusys (cheaper version of the Deco brand). 3 Halo H80X’s and 3 H50G’s.
Get solid and reliable wifi all through the house and garden. My ADSL router does the IP allocation and that’s all.
nophead Yeah I did the same for a while on Google Nest but in the end dropped that for Eero as I wasn't happy with performance in my setup.
Though saying that main issue area is now hardwired and back ports so probably would be okay with nest now.
I have 44 Ethernet ports and nearly all of them are connected to devices because WIFI was never reliable before I got the Nest Mesh system. Now I let a few more things be connected with WIFI. The only weak point with Google is you can't pick channels and you can't disable 5GHz. 5GHz doesn't work reliable in my house because it doesn't go through the walls. A neighbour's 5GHz signal can be stronger coming through a window and swamp my TV that insists on connecting at 5GHz. I had to put in an extra Point to stop that happening. Crazy, why would I ever want to use 5GHz? 2.4GHz is fast enough for HD video and goes through walls.
nophead wow that's a lot of ethernet connections.
Previous house I ran cables through the walls when I refurbished each room but in the end never used them.
Other than a Humax PVR and an old smart speaker that don't have WiFi connections and the Home Assistant server that definitely works better over LAN, I run everything over WiFi.
Predbat and Home Assistant has started a trend for me with smart plugs, shelly switches and next some motion sensors that arrived yesterday.
Am slightly concerned about channel clutter but all working ok so far.
Yes I have a 16 port switch in my garage workshop where I have lots of 3D printers, CNC machines, RPi servers, etc. Another 16 port switch and an 8 port switch in the room I use as an electronics lab, and a five port switch in the lounge for the TV, PVR and AV receiver.
About 40 Wifi devices as well! Lots of Tasmota switches, lightbulbs and cameras.
One ISP told me their router had a limit of 16 devices!
