Hiya Everyone - I'm brand new at this, so please forgive me if its been asked before and / or its just me!
My battery is full (ish) at 80% but its feeding the grid rather than saving it for tonight. How do I stop it from feeding the grid and save it for tonight?

@Normo - good evening. I have an All in One and my inverter settings are: Eco mode - Enabled; Timed Charge - Enabled; Timed Discharge - Disabled; Timed Export - Disabled. It seems to do what I want / need. If you can set the same, and your battery is still discharging, I have heard/read that other discharge / export slots may be active (not something I have experienced, or changed). Hope that helps.
Normo Hi, welcome to the forum.
If it's a brand new system, one possibililty is that it is currently calibrating. it's just a necessary step as part of the install, and you'll just have to wait for it to do its thing.
If it's not that, there is a rather egregious error in the description of 'timed discharge' which makes people believe it is necessary to configure a timed discharge in order to cover the house demand. For most inverters, it is not only unnecessary, but wrong - it will actually force the battery to discharge to the grid.
There are plenty of other possible causes, but this seems quite common.
Do you typically use the web portal to configure your system, or if the app, on Android or iOS ? (The way configuration is done is slightly different across the various interfaces.)
Another newbie question
Is it possible to set up a daily routine to charge my AIO battery to 50% overnight, (so have enough stored for use first thing until solar starts) and then change the level to 100% from 6am so all excess solar is stored reverting back to 50% at 12.30pm.
IJKIJK Yes, I think that should be straightforward. When you configure charge-from-grid, it allows you to set the charge limit, so you can set that to 50%. That should only be for charging from AC, so during the day, it doesn't apply to solar charging. (Or more specifically, it applies only to that particular charging timer slot - you can set multiple timers with different targets.)
That said, I don't entirely know how AIO sees solar - it's AC coupled, and therefore I suppose as far as it's concerned, solar is AC too.
If you need more help in setting it up, it would be useful to know if you are using the web portal, or if an app, whether it's android or iOS - the interfaces are slightly different in each case.
IJKIJK Not sure if this will help, but _ have an old AC coupled system with an 8.2 battery and I usually use the portal to set things up.
If you go to the inverter icon on the portal, open it and click on settings from the tabs across the top of the page you can see all your charge/discharge options. Make sure "ECO is set (Click on it and it should say enabled). Click on timed charge and set the time period you want to charge overnight (for me on Flux it is 2-5am). and set the slider for charge percentage to 50%. Then click "enable". You should get a green banner along the bottom of the screen saying your change was successful. If it comes up red_just click enable again. When your battery drops below 50% during the charge period it will then top up from the grid up to 50%. If there is still a bit of charge time left once it hits this it will continue to charge from the grid until the end of the charge period while holding the battery at 50%. At the end of the charge period it will start to pull from the battery if there is not enough solar to run the house. When solar ramps up it will first be used for the house load. When there is more solar than is needed it will then charge the battery, and keep charging until it hits 100%. Then, when house and battery needs are fufilled it will export to the grid as long as the sun is out. When the sun goes in it will pull from the battery until you start your charge period again.
Not sure if this is what you were meaning to do, or if the AOI will work like conventional AC3.0 coupled, but may be worth a try. ECO together with a timed charge limited to 50% should deliver I hope!
Sorry - just re-read and it wasn't very clear - when your battery reaches 50% if there is still some charge time left the system pulls from the grid to run your house load while keeping the battery charged to 50%. This will make the best use of your cheap rate electricity overnight while keeping your battery at the required level ready for the morning.
Thanks for your responses, My Charge mode is 'Solar+Grid' and I have a schedule set up to charge from grid between 00:30 and 04:30 (to benefit from Octopus Go). However with the 'charge upto' set to 50% this is used for both Grid and Solar levels, hence my need to reset to 100% from 6am so solar level allows 100% on a good day..
IJKIJK Okay, maybe there's something you could try. I don't have an AIO so I can't test it, but I have noticed that on my hybrid inverter, there seem to be two different slots controlling the charging SoC limit. The app appears to set the "wrong" one for me.
Maybe there's one limit which is global, the other is associated with the specific charging slot. (I'm possibly losing you here...)

So you can see that there's one 'AC charge upper limit' at the top, and another per-slot charging limit near the bottom. (I have both set to 40% - IIRC, the app sets the upper one, and I use a script to copy it to the lower one each evening.)
So maybe on your AIO (AC-coupled) system, the upper one is a sort of global limit, whereas the one at the bottom is specific to each slot. So my suggestion is to set the upper one to 100% and the lower one to 50%, and if that doesn't work, could try using the second charging slot rather than the first one (just in case the upper limit and the slot-1 limit are in some way coupled).
You'll need to do this on the web portal since the app doesn't offer access to all these settings.
Thanks DD, this looks like a possible solution, I have just set the charge 1 limit to 75% for tonight (during my cheap rate) and will see what happens tomorrow checking if solar can exceed the 75% limit (assuming we have some sun...)
