We finally have nice weather over here and my inverter keeps crashing - I have noticed that despite generally blue skies PV generation keeps dropping to 0 for up to a minute during which time I pull energy from the grid
I have a gen 1 HY 5.0 inverter running on D0.450-A0.45. Any ideas what is going on?
I’m, getting the same on one of my inverters (the one that’s just been replaced), one break was up to 30 minutes long
And no notifications in the inverter log either
I’m wondering if this is either PV power related as the inverter was at peak 5kW output when it happened, or temperature related as I haven’t get fitted the cooling fans to this inverter. My other gen 1 inverter shows similar drops but for much shorter < 1 minute periods, but that only peaks at 3kW and has cooling fans fitted.
I just had a look at my inverter temp and in all cases that it happened on my kit it was well below 38C. I raised it with GE support and they play dumb saying that they have never had any reports of that happening. I have sent a list of all the occurrences from the last 2 days (14 in total). Further looking at home assistant data it seems to only happen on very sunny days.
GE support is proving to be useless as usual - despite the fact that I have showed them the data from their own portal and supported by much more data from home assistant they do not see a problem with they way the inverter behaves.
