When my dongle on the inverter is set up and connected to my router can I forget it as my ipad keeps trying to connect to it rather than my Sky Fibre router!

2Southcliff Yep; you can forget it (make sure you know the password in case you need to change the settings one day).
Or turn off 'Auto-Join' in your iPad settings for the dongle to remember the password but not automatically connect.
