Hello,
My inverter is showing offline, and I am unable to restart from the app, and the web, just returns an ‘offline’ message.
My dongle can be seen by the router, but the light is flashing blue and I presume it’s not connected. I have reset the dongle several times, to no avail.
The light on the inverter is solid green. I have turned that off and on again, again to no avail.
The battery is at 100%, but I am pulling power from the grid, instead of the battery discharging.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks,
Mitch.

Is it a wired or wireless network connection to your inverter?

If its wireless you can force the inverter to try to reconnect by turning it off and turning it on again. Turn your battery off (button on the side, press and hold in), turn the breakers off that feed the inverter then turn the knob underneath the inverter. Reverse the procedure to turn it on again.
Or follow any instructions left by your installer or in the manual for your inverter type.

Can you clarify what you mean by "can be seen by the router". Does it have an IP address?
How are you resetting it?

DD when I open the router, I can see the dongle in the list. It does have an IP address too.

geoffreycoan forgot to say it's wireless.

MitchP are you aware of the mini http server running on the dongle? Maybe connecting to that would reveal something. Though if it's able connect to the router, you'd think it would be able to get online.
Unless it's something like the router's DNS is broken, but you've configured your other clients to use public DNS servers so that you hadn't noticed?

Sorry for the late reply.
I now have the inverter talking to both the app and dthe web........ however, it keeps saying that the inverter is offline. I'm not convinced it's a WiFi, web issue, but the inverter itself. I have just updated the software (16/6/2024). It's really irritating. At any given time I don't know if I'm charging, exporting or consuming.

Does the system still do it's thing regardless?

Inverter has the red Error light on most of the time now, so I have no idea what the inverter is doing.
I have email the support at Givenergy to see what they come up with.

MitchP If there’s a red light then something is wrong. Have a look at the notifications for your inverter in the givenergy portal, that should give a clue what’s gone wrong

But it is Givenergy support you need. You might get a quicker response by phoning on Monday. emails can take a few days to be replied to

Have you tried turning everything off and back on again. That includes turning the battery off.
That means PV strings, mains supply and battery.
Leave for 30s and turn back on again.
It has to be everything that gives power to the inverter or it will carry on running and not restart.
With everything going off and back on again that will reboot the inverter.
Mine did something like yours and the battery on/off button did nothing which identified a battery firmware issue that GivEnergy then help me fix by (DONT DO THIS AT HOME) taking the front cover off and pulling a cable off a terminal and putting back on. It then rebooted and all been good for 2 years (Gen1 Hy5.0 + 9.5batt)
