Can anyone help solve this problem. My inverter restarts/ shuts down up to 60 times a day when the sun shines! Once the inverter can no longer send surplus power to house, battery or car it has to export it to grid. If It is unable to produce a higher voltage than grid voltage so it shuts down / restarts frequently. Voltage has been checked by local Northern Power engineers 3times and always within tolerances.
Very occasionally I saw readings on the inverter of Grid voltages of 253 to 254 but generally a lot lower , not enough to cause the number of inverter voltage errors. My installer is blaming the grid voltage for the problem and wants me to get the DNO to reduce my local voltage by 5to 10 volts. I say this is not the answer and if the inverter cannot cope it is not fit for purpose. I hope to get some help from the inverter manufacturer, but otherwise I believe it is the installers responsibility to sort the problem , they designed the system and installed it. Any comments?

h2onorth What if anything do you see in the notifications list for your inverter in the portal?
If the grid supply is over voltage then you'll see "grid voltage error" and you can see the voltage in the portal display of your inverter data

hi thanks for your response. My inverter is actually a Solis and does not show up in the GE portal.
I am having to talk to Solis , GE, Northern Power and my installer in trying to get someone to agree
there is a problem.
I give you an example of what happens;
On Friday I was charging the EV after the all in one battery was fully charged and surplus solar was around
3.5 to 4 kWs. When I did not want to charge the car beyond 80 % I told the Zappi to stop charging which it did and IMMEDIATELY the Solis inverter shut down with its usual click and I know the grid voltage at the time was not overly high.
I cannot see how anyone can blame grid voltage as the main cause of my issues, the Solis inverter continues to shut down regularly regardless as to the grid voltage level.
My installer wants me to get the DNO to reduce my grid voltage by 5 to 10 volts but I do not think that is the answer at all.
I am wondering whether the cable connection from my Solis inverter ( in garage 18 meters away) via the Gateway to my Smart meter is not able to take the level of power required to export but I do not think that is likely since the All in one discharges at. 6.1 kWs when it is calibrating but on a different sized cable, so I think the Solis inverter is either faulty or set up incorrectly?

Hi Further to my issues on this, all was resolved once it was realised that my inverter Solis, had not been properly commissioned in that the G99/ G100 data was incomplete
h2onorth Could you explain that futher? How does the commisioning/G98/G99 (or lack thereof) affect the inverter output?
