I have a GiveEnergy Inverter Model GIV-HY5.0 with Software Version D0.307-A0.307 coupled to 12 x 455W solar panels and two Gen2 GivEnergy 9.5kWh LiFePO4 Battery packs. So far so good.
The system was installed last September and over the months I've noticed odd behaviour which I have finally managed to document happening today.
The system starts the day normally, Solar Panels supplying the house, batteries being charged. Everything works fine until the Battery packs reach 100% and the Solar Panels are generating power. At this point the Inverter stops "using" both Solar Power and Battery Power and imports Grid Power. I've confrmed this two or three times now by looking at my Smart Meter IDD's real time Electricity Usage figure.
The GiveEnergy App on my phone at this point shows ridiculously small figutres for household power demand, solar generation and battery supply. The LEDs on the front of the Inverter show supply from Solar and Battery but no supply to the house.
Turning the batteries off at this point, does after about a minute, restore a sensible situation where excess power over about what the house needs is exported once again.
If I turn the batteries back on again after a few hours when the sun starts to grow weak, all stays fine until the next day.
What is going on and what is a permenent solution?
