(Battery and solar panels) I'm not a wizard on these things but I usually get by. I've just moved to Oct. Flux the same as last year. But I'm sure something has changed on the app as I don't remember it being so inflexible?
It only appears to have one setting to be used at any one time. Normally have on Eco, but if I want to discharge the battery during peak time when I know I don't need it, it seems to only take that setting. And if I disable the export function it still retains the minimum battery export.
eg using "timed export" setting for the last few days with export times at 4pm - 7pm and discharge to 15% to save a bit to run fridge etc until the sun shines again. This fills the battery, exports excess and then discharges at the set times. (I hoped!)
Then later this evening (8pm) I went in to Eco setting as we were eating late, and disabled the export setting. We were using a bit more power than usual and I noticed that the system was drawing from the grid with still 15% of the battery remaining? The only way I could get to use this power down to the standard 4% was to remove the 15% with the slider to 4%. Despite that function disabled, this now enabled me to use some of the remaining battery power.
I'm hoping this makes some sort of sense.
Is this the limit of the flexibility of the system? Is there no way to set up a number of parameters for different scenarios and just enable the settings you want for my individual circumstances and the weather etc?
It seems to me that I have to keep going into the app multiple times a day to make sure the system is doing what I need! Or am I missing something?

gordonm ate you using the iOS or android app? I think the iOS one has been changed recently? I use android.

I could be wrong, but I think when the presents the discharge-until limit, it actually controls the master reserve level, rather than the per-discharge-slot level. (It's a while since I did the experiment.) To get to the per-slot level, you'd need to use the remote control page.

Note also that when it does reach the level set, it pauses the battery until the end of the time period, rather than switching to eco mode, meaning it will start drawing from grid. This is probably not what you want during flux peak rate.

It appears to be quite a limited functionality? Having to constantly go in the app at different times of day to amend what I need.
I will try and control the limit on discharge by using the time function I guess.
I would seem to be a simple software development to be able to stack functions to be active at different times of the day and build a number of scenarios that could be made live as and when

gordonm yes. the inverter itself behaves reasonably sensibly with the various timers, etc. (perhaps the gen-1 slightly less so.) Unfortunately the app does seem to be a bit of a weak link. The remote control section on the portal offers a lot of detailed control, as does the cloud API.
