Auto set up for battery charge from Solar

Good afternoon all, relatively new to the system here (well first good weather, since the install in Sept).

Previously the battery has been charging at night (off peak)

I understand it is possible to set up the system to manage the battery charge if there is going to be good weather the following day, thus avoiding any import to charge - Is this simply done by turning on ECO mode and do I need to turn off timed charge??? or is there any further complication to this??

Thanks

AJon unless you're on Agile, there isn't an out of the box solution to do this, the app will allow you to set a fixed time and percentage for charging, or Eco will just use solar to charge.

Anything more to do with weather would need something like Wonder Watt, Home Assistant with PredBat or another service (can't remember the name)

Cdent thanks for your reply so Eco will purely use Solar. The other alternative would be for me to manually monitor the weather and turn off peak charging on or off manually every evening?

AJon On its own, the inverter is purely reactive, so doesn't attempt to predict what might happen in the future. And any charge/discharge schedules are simple fixed-time periods.

wonderwatt.com is (currently) a free cloud service which can use solar forecasting to decide whether/how much to charge your battery overnight. https://myenergyoptimiser.co.uk is similar. (I don't use either of them.)

AJon yes that would be an option for you, bit of a hassle but it would do the job

Do you have an export tariff set up?
