Dongle flakiness

After returning home from shopping my wife complained she could not connect to the inverter via the Inverter app and the GivEnergy app would not connect in local mode. My phone was working fine, so I compared the settings in both apps and could not find a difference. Then a few hours later my phone would not connect locally in either app. The web portal seemed to be working bit it said the last inverter online time was 12:30ish. Odd because the graphs were up to date,

I logged into the dongle and all the settings seemed fine but I noticed a reboot option. After selecting that both of our phones connected again. The last online time is now 20:50:19 but that is 1:15 behind the current time.

Since being installed in September the system has been totally reliable so I don't know why it suddenly stopped working. Anybody else had issues this evening?

Occasionally the inverter does drop off line, but usually rights itself within an hour or so. It is usually to do with the dongle losing connection to the internet temporarily. I don't use the app, but on the portal you will see that the time it goes off-line is connected to when it comes back on-line by a straight line. It looks as though you have readings, but if you hover the cursor over the line and move it up and down you will see there are actually no 5 minute readings. The system is still working during this time and it is still generating, storing or exporting , but because the inverter sends it's readings to the GivEergy cloud, and then they send them back to the app/portal if you interupt the internet connection the data doesn't get sent so you get no readings. It means you can't alter any settings either whilst off line which can be a bit of a pain if you are about to export or are half way through an export cycle.

The dongle was still connected to the internet I think, because non-local mode and the web app still worked. No flat bits on the graphs. Just the local mode couldn't connect. And first my wife's phone and then hours later my phone.

Hard to imagine what was wrong that would stop our phones getting access because the dongle was certainly visible on the network. Just the inverter wasn't accessible from the intranet but seemed to be still sending results to the portal.
