Historical tariff prices lost/changed with new tariff input

Hi, I have just changed my fixed tariff prices on the portal and it requires that I remove the old tariff first. Now I have the new tariff in place, the historical report data uses the new tariff that was not in place for that usage. Is there a way to lock in the tariff price to a date before and after the change to keep the savings/import detail correct and not based solely on the new tariff. I really hope this is not a new feature request😅. Note I selected GivEnergy on the form to set the tariff manually, is there any other way?

Hi, we'll be looking to delete the cache of your reports at some point so you can reload the reports you have generated for the day. This will be implemented in the near future and we understand that currently, its confusing for customers to not see their report re-align with their new updated dashboard.

Mickey (GivEnergy) Hi Mickey, I am not sure I see how that will affect the change in tariff on a certain date if I can't input the date that the tariff changed somewhere. I am a new user but the logic of the situation demands that I can say when the tariff changed and if it changes again (which it will later in this year) or the output of costs and savings in money terms cannot be correct for old usage/savings. Simply the changed tariff on the portal has impacted usage costs from when I was on the old tariff that is now incorrectly using the new tariff figures to generate the cost numbers. It looks like all reports will use the current registered tariff even though they should have used the old tariff (before it changed). An example would be if I generate a report for last month say the14th (I was on the lower tariff of around 20p) the report generated now shows the tariff of 29p being used which is the new tariff for this month onward and therefore is incorrectly reporting the cost and in fact is different from when I generated the same report last month which did use the current prevailing tariff at the time of around 20p. I am unsure if deleting any cache will change the fact its now generating reports with the singular current tariff and not considering the fact it has changed and both tariff figures apply but at different times. In fact it will be necessary to register and keep tariff figures for future calculations of old costs. Its also necessary to allow the tariff to be changed retrospectively as I may not get around to making the change on the actual day it changes. Obviously if I generate a report before I make a change to the portal tariff that has actually changed from my provider then it would be my fault if the figures are incorrect. I hope its clear what I am saying as these things can indeed be confusing, luckily I was Chief Engineer with over 40years of design engineering experience in software and electronics. Hopefully I have made the correct assessment but, as I say I am a new user and the terms such as cache may be seen as different to my understanding which is simply a copy kept to save from recalculating or requesting the same data as before. I believe the problem you are considering maybe different from the issues I am asking about, but I stand ready to be corrected, after all its your system. Please don't see this as criticism as I think this GE product is great and getting better all the time, I chose it because it has such a great interface when compared to the competition. Hi there,

We're aware of not storing tariffs historically as we've made our custom GivEnergy tariff inputs a way for customers to enter their tariff freely. We understand its shortcomings but we'll be looking to improve this feature in the future.

This is separate to the issue of reports not showing correct information when information on your dashboard was changed. This has actually been rectified in our new 'what`s new' update so please take a look
