I have been seeing some oddities with the GE portal (and HA stats) lately where the Solar count for the day doesnt start incrementing even after a couple of Kwh has been generated. This morning I had been generating a slow ramp from 5:15am up to 1.75kw by 9am and it only showed 0.5Kwh generated. Its not every day but been a few. Anyone else noticed this lately?
GE Portal Solar Generation Count missing data

Is at it again! Is it just me?

I checked my graphs for last few days and all seem reasonable.
If you are looking at "Generation Today", the portal can take some time to process your data. To see the correct figure, use "My Inverter", scroll to the "Meter Data" tab, and look at the "PV Generation Today" Column.
Otherwise just look at the portal in the evening and you won't see an issue.
Thanks both, I got to the bottom of it. Weirdly its to do with using the Pause battery option to pause both charge and discharge together. If you choose that option the PV Generation Today counter stops counting. I had that on up till 10am nearly every day this month which is why it became so obvious to me.

Even more weirdly when the pause ended and the PV counter started to rise the consumption total took a nose dive

Waiting for GE to come back to me with their thoughts on all this
Hopeful Home consumption cannot be calculated by the inverter, it has to be derived from other readings, e.g.
Home Consumption = Import - Export + PV Generation - Battery Charge + Battery Discharge
The dips are probably due to data transmission delays in the calculations. I sometimes see similar problems in my own custom Home Assistant consumption sensor if one of the sensors doesn’t return a value in a 5 minute period.
Might also be due to rounding errors as data is only held to 1 decimal place.
Unfortunately there are many shortcomings with the GivEnergy portal data and we’ve all had to live with it. Useful for trends but not absolute values
geoffreycoan Yes, long gone are the days when you just looked at your meter and knew how much energy your house consumed.
The dips are because of the stalled total generation counter which essentially lost some solar in the GivMaths. Typically a few KWh in the 6-10am window which ultimately skewed my consumption and generation totals 🙁
