EON now offering 40p per kWh on SEG

This would apply to me as my system incl battery was installed in Feb of this year, I’m also an EON electricity customer

Wow indeed. EON now have a financial incentive to do a poor quality installation (that doesn't export to it's full potential).

I guess it is all about the maths, quality of install and wattage or panels.

If you get three quotes and Eon are the highest then would the 40p export for the rest of the summer (say October) pay that extra?

If they install the panels they want and not the ones you choose e.g 400w instead of 430w you would generate less over 25 years?

However if none of above then this is a very good rate, but the old saying you never get anything for nothing is ringing in my ear 😀

Midlands_Solar That's quite good. Octopus Agile is sitting around the 16p mark overnight for most of this week. Only had 2 better days in the last 9. I could move to Eon for the winter and use the battery to cover the 07:00 - 00:00 period. I don't think they'll give me the 40p export rate though as, even though they installed my system I've had it more than a year.

How long are you locked in for? Do you have to give them control over your battery?

Windy Miller Unfortunately, the contract states that this only applies to EON customers who have electricity supplied by them, and had their solar system installed by them from January of this year.

The contract term is 12 months
