Gateway not working hence no power in the house.

Past two days I've had issues where the gateway has been turning power on and off over short period. However, yesterday the gateway went offline and I have no power in the house since last night.
I hade UK Power Network come over and they confirmed that there is power coming to the house but the not going anywhere from the gateway. Only red light appears on the gateway and the AIO has no light on it.

Givenergy are closed on Sunday to help, so does anyone have any Idea how to resolve these issues?

Argh! Have you tried the Bypass switch on the Gateway?

Sorry I'm not very technical on this but how do you do that???

Open the door of the gateway and you'll see a breaker on the right hand side labelled bypass (item 'J')
It'll have a little cover on it with a thumbscrew to remove it.
Remove cover and push the bypass mcb up, this bypasses the gateway entirely.
Note: there should be a Rittal key that unlocks the front of the gateway, the key hole is on the right hand side of the gateway.

This will heavily screw with your grid power readings so I'd also turn the AIO off until whatever it is wrong with your gateway is resolved. It'll just do weird things otherwise.

Also when you open the door, if it smells like burnt electronics, feels hot to the touch or generally looks like it has had heat damage then it may need further investigation from an emergency electrician to make sure its in a fit state to even run in bypass.

Seems like that has got the power back in the house but load switch seems to drop automatically

Something in your house potentially then, anything beyond between your gateway and the consumer unit.
(Normally you'd expect individual circuits to trip if it was a single circuit fault not an 80A one in the gateway)
You can be all means switch off everything in the house consumer unit and see if the Load breaker stays up - unlikely - but by process of elimination by turning things in the consumer unit on one by one you may get lucky.

Just for my education - if all the fuses in the consumer unit were off, then what might cause the Load breaker to flip?

PianSom fault between L & N or L & E on the tails out from the gateway to the CU.

Thanks for you guidance, I will try that but as long as I can get through the next 2 days without any issues, I be happy. I can then speak to the installers and givenergy helpline to try and resolve this matter.

I've had nothing but issues with AIO from time to time.

PianSom although thinking harder, it could be a back feed from the bypass up into a fault in the gateway causing the load to trip.
The OP's comments seem to suggest the house is now on and just the load breaker is tripping (I couldn't remember which side the bypass linked across the load breaker but it is the bottom side.)

I have a small personal interest in this - I am waiting for an engineer appointed by GE to come and replace my Gateway under RMA. And slightly scared it may all go horribly wrong before.

PianSom what's wrong with it? The Neutral Earth bond thing (and the tripping the firmware fix often causes?)
I've seen the big capacitors in the gateway fail, the blowout of those points directly down onto the top of the Grid and load MCB which may be what happened on this thread.
There was another thread on here where their gateway filled with magic smoke and I couldn't fathom out how it roasted the bypass cabling but made more sense after I looked up at the PCB in the very top of the gateway.

The RCBOs on my consumer unit trip when it moves to Island Mode. And there are "nuisance trips" in the GW also. For a while an earth leakage was suspected (and - I think - is still a possibility). And I have also wondered whether an earth rod is needed. But GE have agreed to replace the GW, so we shall see how things are after that.

All came to a head when I was abroad in April, and had a grid interruption from a local storm, followed a couple of days later by a grid interruption from a local High Voltage line failure. Both times caused a panic, as I had to get someone in to save the freezer.

The newer gateways (although nobody has truly explained what's new) seem to be more robust around that kind of thing - working NE bonds out of the box for a start. Wouldn't mind seeing them side by side but I'm not buying another one just to placate my curiosity!
