Hello, all you clever people… advice needed please
I have a Givenergy inverter. My problem is - I do not know the password for the dongle !
How do I get it ? Do I contact the people who fitted it (Soly) or do I contact Givenergy.
My system seems to be working well, but after it was installed, I was not given any sort of instruction or advice, on how to work it. I have raised the problem with Soly, also complaining that I thought my system would be a backup if I had a power cut. Island mode… Anyway I politely raised my concerns to them and heard nothing. A week later I complained ( politely ) again - and the guy who is my main point of contact waffled on and said it would cost well over a thousand pounds to put your system in island mode, and I clearly informed you that your system will not !
I paid the final invoice, withholding exactly £1000. Hoping that might see some action.
The very next day they emailed me stating that after several reminders you have failed to pay £1000 blah blah blah in the contract you should have paid etc. I replied that this is the FIRST REMINDER and they have broken the contract, not me - as soon as you instruct me on the new system, give me a password for my inverter dongle and explain why I have not got Island mode I will pay immediately. That was a week ago, and I have heard nothing.
How do I get the password ?

Snakey is the system connected to your wifi ? If it is, you can open a browser to the ip address, and at the prompt, the credentials are probably admin/admin. Then you can view the AP credentials.

While you're on there, check the access point on the dongle is secured/encrypted. You don't want random people browsing the internet via the dongle aka via your broadband!

See the KB article for the dongle on the GivEnergy KB site. Google GivEnergy KB dongle and you should find the article/pdf.
