PV Generation Day Total - Report vs Inverter Data different

I have noticed the PV generation as reported in a daily report is higher by a few % than the Daily total as reported in Inverter data I downloaded.

Can anyone explain the diferences, and which might be closet to actual ?
I imagine it is to do with sample rates of data used and how solar irradiance varies with time (passing clouds).

EricIoW The inverter sends 5 minute snapshots of pv, load etc to the portal which assumes the pv etc is constant over the whole 5 minutes, which of course it never is.
The daily totals which come from the inverter should be the most accurate

geoffreycoan I thought the inverter total would be most accurate, that is what I have used for pvoutput dot org. I wonder why the report does not use the same data ?
