My battery dropped from 80% to 3% in 30 min overnight the other day. I talked to customwr suppoer and they said its a known firmware bug and the battery/inverter loose track of the levels or think its at x level when its not. The next day (sunny day) it started charging normally and then it jumped to full in big increments. I reckon the battery was full but the system went crazy. Two days later it happened again but theres been not much sun so the levels are very low (20%) so i cant fully test things. Couple of questions: those two drops happened during an internet outage could that be what triggered it? And, if i go and turn the battery off and on, is there a chance it might recognise that it actually has a lot of energy stored and things go back to normal?

That might be useful... from what I've read on here, when the battery is idle at low-ish charge level, it's able do some introspection and evaluate how full it really is.
Turning off eco for a couple of hours might be useful..? That will stop it charging from solar and discharging to cover house load. You might see the reported charge level drift a little.
Perhaps in the evening to avoid importing from grid during the peak.
What firmware are you currently running ?
I can't immediately think of a reason for internet outage causing problems. The system should operate standalone, and the connection to the internet is primarily for reporting state every 5 minutes.

Ive also noted in the last couple of days the inverter has notifications for bms under/over voltage. What does this mean and can this cause issues?

Clicking on the battery bar at the bottom will show you the individual cell voltages. Because GE support have already had a look at your system, there's no particular reason to suppose there's a weak cell, but worth ruling that since it probably can cause weirdness.
All you're looking for is that the cells are roughly the same voltage. Ideally within a few mV when the system is idle, though they may diverge a bit under load (charging or discharging).

Hello there, I've had my battery since December and the battery percentage has dropped rapidly, for no apparent reason, twice.
Did they say whether they're looking into the bug?
Other than that, we're chuffed with the solar and battery set-up.
thethomsons they said they know about it and testing on the beta firmware. Didnt give a date for the firmware to he released though
I'm also experiencing this issue with battery fw 3015 and inverter fw D0.205-A0.205.
There are "BMS under voltage" errors every few days and when this happens my battery charge drops to zero in the space of 5-10 mins.
Hopefully they have a fix shortly!
