Hi,
On my app the Mode was set to 1 this morning. However on the portal it is set to Timed discharge which I set up last night on the laptop.
I have no idea what it is currently set to. Is it a bug?
I cannot post the images for some reason.

We are at a bit of an awkward crossroads at present with the app and the portal, I will explain why as it is pertinent to your query
The app and old portal just talk to the inverter for all settings. That’s why they can be slow and get timeout errors. We acknowledged that in the beta portal and do things a bit differently.
All settings that pass through the portal are cached so that they are instantly available in the screens. If you change a setting that also changes the cache. That give a big speed increase and makes the site more usable.
Spotted the issue?
If a customer changes any settings via the app or old portal then those setting will indeed be passed through to the inverter and will operate as the customer expects. The problem is that the beta portal doesn’t know about them so has not refreshed its cache based on those settings
I have added a development request into the beta portal backlog to allow a customer to force a refresh. That’s not ideal but if you know you changed something it will at least allow you to bring them into line. The only way currently is to send the same settings via the portal
There is no issue viewing data in any interface, its just the changes that don’t reflect if not done via the beta portal
The definitive version if how the inverter is actually set is that displayed by talking direct to the inverter i.e. the app
Have you tried the Beta portal on your IPhone. It should work, its designed to be responsive and map to any size and orientation of device. We have more to do, but maybe try that too. If you don’t need to use the app then this problem goes away
BTW, we are making a new “battery” card now too. That will expose these capabilities in a way that’s a little friendlier than the current “inverter “card
Good explanation, @simon_swinburne . Thanks for that.
Is this why when I set my battery to charge to 100% one day via the portal, and it did. I changed my charge settings to slightly different times and 85% charge level the following day using the app this time, and it still charged up to 100%.
Or do I have a different problem?
Salibaba Essentially the last method (portal/app/API) you make changes with should win - so I don't think the mismatch issue is why it didn't work (it's more of a display issue). I'm guessing your attempt of using the app to change to 85% didn't actually work - I'd try it again.
I've just decided to use the app for monitoring only at the moment until I can get hold of someone at Givenergy support. I've another issue to raise with them next week anyway. I much prefer to use the new portal, it seems to be making changes and keeping them. I am sorley tempted though to recycle my old HP tablet into a flow display using the beta home display on the old dashboard. stick it to the wall in the kitchen and jobs a good un!
