Hi, we are trying to take advantage of the off peak rate between 2 and 5 but the battery only charges to 40% in that time, just wanting to check, is that usual? There no limit on the % and it keeps charging after so its not a setting limiting how much it charges. Advice would be appreciated!
Time to charge
Ronlincoln Hi, welcome to the forum.
Perhaps you could tell us a little about your system ?
Is the problem that the battery charges slowly, and only reaches 40% by 5am, or that it stops charging before 5am ?
Not sure what you mean by "it keeps charging after" - from grid, or from solar ?
It depends on your charging rate. If your charging rate is 2600W then at most you can add 2.6kW in one hour. The rate varies between products, combinations of products and if your home is single phase or three phase.
That said, you would have to have a very large battery system to only charge to 40% in three hours. That would infer it would take seven and a half hours to fully charge your system.
What is your "Charge Power" under "Battery Options" in the app/inverter settings in the portal? How many batteries do you have and of what type/capacity?
