Another newbie here looking for a bit of advice!
I've got a GIV-HY5.0 Hybrid inverter with a 9kWh battery and 8 solar panels. I've added to this an All-in-One. The hybrid is connected to the solar input on the gateway.
I'm managing this with Home Assistant using GivTCP. As I'm on Octopus Intelligent Go, I'm also using the Octopus Intelligent Tariff plugin which triggers when I've got cheap power available.
Currently, I have an automation running that triggers the batteries to charge when cheap power is available. It also pauses discharging during that time. When Octopus is on standard rate, I cease charging and turn off AC charging so the batteries don't cross charge, but my 9kWh battery can still capture excess solar via the DC route.
At the moment, I don't have an export tariff, but hopefully I will do, once the various certification bits are completed. The plan is to export any excess to benefit from the 15p export rate. But that bit isn't happening yet. Until that happens, I don't want to export anything.
This is all working well except for one small detail. Ideally, I'd like to balance the batteries a little so they both discharge. But what seems to happen is, the All-in-One slowly creeps up, stopping the Hybrid from supplying any power. All solar then ends up in the battery.
It all works, but I'd rather the Hybrid and All-in-One share the load a little. If I briefly flick the All-in-One out of ECO, then the Hybrid fully takes over, but then the AiO kicks in and before long, it's taken over again.
Is there a nice little Home Assistant automation somewhere that would encourage them to share the load a little better?
