Rogue Battery Discharge

Hi, I have an 8.2kWh GivEnergy battery, and it's been working fine, however I've noticed a couple of times that it just does a rogue discharge. It drops sharply by 30% or so in half an hour (has been at 0530-0600 today and 0600-0630 another day). Looking at the data in the portal there is no power demand, and no discharge to grid, so just seems like the battery is discharging to nothing? Anyone seen this before, or is there any logs I can look at to see what the deal is?

this sounds very much like your inverter is loosing track of the soc of the battery which can happen over time, and all of a sudden the inverter decides that it needs to change the soc value, hence the big and sudden drop.

Getting givenergy to recalibrate the battery can help teach the inverter what full and empty look like, and if you can regularly run your battery from full to empty then this helps avoid it

When the battery is idle, it has a chance to do some introspection to evaluate how much energy it really has. This is much harder under load (charging or discharging) since the voltage is signficantly perturbed by that.

I deliberately allow my battery to idle for an hour overnigtht - sometimes I see it drift upwards a few percent. (Mine seems to tend to correct upwards rather than downwards, which I guess is probably good.)
