So today, I have had a smart meter fitted (still dumb as cant provision yet)

Unfortunately, the GivEnergy App is showing massive import (often 10 times what it has been) I have been advised that there is a 'settling period' but I'm a little concerned.

This is a pic of my meter (hopefully)

So I think it shows that I have used 1 kWh, and am currently exporting (but EDF do not seem to be able to help me confirm that) Any here know if Im reading this correctly, and that I just need to wait/get in touch with my solar installer again?

shawry Can't see the pic but wonder if the Smart meter installer replaced the Givenergy CT the right way round. What does the Smart meter say is the consumption since it went live? Do you have a button on the Smart meter to press to show export?

Not sure who said there'd be a settling in period but I'd take that with a pinch of salt. The meter will measure and record the flow of energy to and from the grid. If you've any concerns that the meter is not corrected correctly, get in touch with the DNO. It's unlikely it is incorrectly installed.

From the Givenergy perspective, as long as the CT has been installed correctly, that system shouldn't even know about any changes, so no settling in for that either.

So, it was working this morning then EDF fitted the smart meter.

As my smart meter is stiff dumb until they can sort it I’m reliant on the reading.

The only reading I can seem to find is Rate 01 Act ImP which currently reads 00001 kWh

That’s what I would expect on my current usage during the day where I’m mostly on solar generated.

But there is a square at the bottom left of the display on the meter that has an arrow with export above it.

I’m hoping that’s meaning I’m currently exporting (there is a space underneath which says import when you bring the screen to life so it lights up each bit it can)

Tim so possibly the smart meter installer has messed up the ct?

Thanks Tim, I swapped the CT round, and seems to have resolved it, bloody smart meter fitter 🙁
