Hi all
My current configuration:
10 * AIKO 445 Wp SE; 10 * AIKO 445 NW (total 8.9 kWp); GE 5kW Hybrid; AIO 6 kW with gateway (DNO restricted to 8kW)
The capacity of the battery is enough for our current energy consumption as we currently heat on Gas and do not have an EV.
I could do with some additional power output to meet peak power demand (although this is not that much, mostly the shower which is 7.2 kW) and additional storage now would not likely be needed, but with thinking about the future it is likely that an EV will be in the mix and possibly ASHP later (especially if gas fired systems will no longer be available).
So my questions are:
- Is it worthwhile getting an additional battery now (no VAT and "free" EV charger)?
- I've been led to believe that DC-coupled batteries will not work with the AIO, so (if true)
- What, if any, GE AC-coupled batteries work well together (no cross charging for instance)?
- Assuming the DNO kept the 8kW export restriction, is it possible to configure inverters to restrict export but allow the whole power to the house if needed. So if I got another AIO 6kW could I have upto 12 kW power for house?
- What other considerations should I make?
TIA
