Export settings query

Good evening all,

I had an AiO installed and commissioned last month, swapped over to Octopus Flux from the end of July and updated to latest firmware this Tuesday (6th) and looking to figure out why the battery isn't doing what I'm trying to set it to do. No external controls are present.

The settings appear straightforward.
0200-0500 import to 95%.
1730-1900 export to 35%
Battery Reserve 10%

So, my expectation is, charge to 95% on the cheap rate, solar tops it off once the sun hits, export surplus power through the day, export up to 65% of the battery ending at 1900 leaving ₂₅% for the seven hours to 0200 and repeat.

If the battery hits 10% before 0200 it starts importing early, expected, fine. But on the export side, on low sun days I've seen the battery export to 35% then start importing from the grid at peak rates despite still having 25% between the export level and the reserve available for the house.

Am I missing a setting or is this working as intended?

This is working as expected.

Export 1730-1900 to 35% means ‘export until the battery gets to 35% and hold this charge level until 19:00’

So if you reach the lower limit before the end of the export period, any home demand will have to come from the grid as the battery is still being held at the minimal level.

Its the way it works, sorry. Only way round it is to reduce the discharge limit or reduce the discharge period so it doesn’t run out prematurely.

Oh and by the way, unless its going to be a low sun day the next day and you need the overnight charge to get you through the Flux peak period, its not worth charging the battery overnight on Flux. After battery losses are included its actually losing you money (slightly) by charging overnight.
Better to let the battery fill from solar and only export when its full.

As you get towards winter may need to resume overnight charges to get you through the peak period, but in the summer, not worth it.

I was afraid of that, seems counter-intuitive then to have a second reserve, Is there a way to automatically disable the export setting once it hits the 35% level so the extra 25% can be freed up for the house through regular supply?

Not that I'm aware of - I use an external script which monitors the level, and turns off timed export when it gets to that level.
