Good afternoon,

Looking at my dashboard the inverter data is from about 2 1/2 hours ago. It says the inverter is offline. When I try to reboot it it says “Restart Failed - Inverter Offline”. Does anyone have any idea how I fix the issue?

Regards

PKitching I don't have an AIO, but since no-one else has made any suggestions...

The crude approach is just to power-cycle the device. Not entirely sure what that entails, but the installation guide in the knowledge base has a shutdown procedure: https://kb.givenergy.cloud/article.php?id=85&oid=1

I have seen a suggestion that restarting your router might bring the inverter back online. Not quite sure why that should work, but seems like something simple to try.

If you know the IP address of the AIO, can you ping it? It may be that it's connected to wifi, but for some reason hasn't made a connection out to the portal. If it's like hybrid, it runs a simple web server on port 80, and you can connect to it from a browser. On hybrid, default credentials are admin/admin. There may be a button to restart the dongle there.

If the inverter has lost connectivity to the router, restarting the router can enable the inverter to reestablish connectivity to the internet. Home wifi routers are built to a (very low) price and they can just lose devices sometimes.
Restarting the router or restarting the inverter dongle is simpler than shutting down and rebooting the inverter which as you’ve said has to be done in a specific sequence

For the AIO you can try this

Find the button on the side of the AIO unit and hold it in for a couple of seconds and let go and you should hear some clanking, after a few seconds press the button again and wait up to 5 minutes for it to cycle back up and see if its able to connect on the app.

How are you wired, LAN or Wireless? It COULD be the infamous comms issue that can crop up and there is a solution that will have to be applied when its online but only ask if you have constant issues.

If you are running via a network switch you may have to just power cycle that, my old Netgear switch was faultless but my new 8 port one every now and then just shuts down traffic which is weird.

If the soft reset does nothing for you you could press the button on the side of the AIO and when its done with the clanking then flip the breaker next to it in the cover down and then flip the AIO breaker in the gateway til the lights go off then reverse the procedure.

You will need to again give it up to 5 minutes to properly all kick back on again, if it still isn't connecting and you have an IHD make sure the battery is providing power to the home (the grid draw will disappear) if it isn't you may need to just press the button on the side again.
