I have an AC3.0, and an EcoFlow Powerstream 800W microinverter. I'll be testing this on a circuit which is unprotected by the EPS, but the best position for panels is the other side of the house, where the spur is on the EPS output. I assume that in a power-cut, the sinewave generated by the AC3 should allow the Powerstream to fire up, and it would be great to allow PV to support the battery, but I wonder if there are any concerns about this? Would excess PV charge the battery?

andrew_bond I'm a long way from being an expert on this, but I thought that in a power cut, an inverter was required to disconnect itself from the grid. A hybrid inverter can continue to charge itself from solar since that's all internal. And I think AIO/gateway, the solar connects to the gateway, so maybe that's okay.
But if it's just an AC-coupled inverter talking to an AC-coupled solar inverter talking along the same wires that connect out to the grid, maybe that can't work? Do they both have to shut down in power cut ? Dunno.
The EPS output is on a separate physical connector, and can power things as long as they use separate wiring from the grid connection.
Yes, if it's AC-connected to the grid, the inverter needs to shut down to protect anyone working on the grid side (and it will, as it requires an AC connection in order to function). My question is though, is it OK for it to get the AC from the EPS circuit, which in a power-cut will be isolated from the grid? Is it supported by GivEnergy, or would they advise against it?
(I could have asked GE directly, but the Powerstreams are a really good deal at £80, so I thought others might be connecting them, hence good to ask here) Hopefully someone from GE will comment.

If the powerstream is capable of feeding back to grid (which it sounds like it can) then I really wouldn't run it when you are on EPS. Any generation fed back to the EPS terminals will blow the inverter. (Several people have had their EPS accidentally wired to either in a loop or to AC grid and the inverter just goes pop)
It's also the reason why you can't daisy chain Givenergy inverter EPS's together to gain more output off grid.
