New Home Automations options

I was wondering if there could be more options for Automations for the inverter,
Something like grid assistance mode, battery could charge up on cheap rate overnight or day where you can set the maximum rate you want to pay, once it gets to teh peak time then to discharge for the 2 hr at whatever rate and then discharge the rest into the house until the next day.

Does anyone else have any ideas for Home automation of their batteries that we can put forward to the Givenergy Team.

I think I'd rather they concentrated on the firmware and low-level facilities. This high-level configuration can be done externally since it doesn't really need very close integration.

BirjuPatel85 Battery optimisation rapidly becomes quite complicated with different tariffs from different energy providers. A lot of us are on Octopus but they offer 6 different smart tariffs (Agile, Tracker, Cosy, Flux, IOF, IOG, Go) plus standard variable and economy 7. Add in all the other energy providers and it’s a big job to automate them.

If you want a truly fire and forget tariff and have reasonable sized solar then Intelligent Octopus Flux is suitable for many. If you have an EV then EV-specific tariffs, likewise heat pumps, etc.

Plenty of external solutions around to automate charging your GivEnergy battery; cloud solutions like WonderWatt, My Energy Optimiser and Octopus R&D, or local control with Home Assistant and GivTCP for which you can write your own automations/scripts or use Predbat.

I agree,I have looked at the animation options in the app, and it seems I can either choose to charge when Agile is cheap or with the sun and potentially us relatively expensive energy at 2pm to meet any shortfall. From what I can tell WonderWatt does a hybrid of those two. It would be nice to see it as a simple option in the app as it looks like it is pretty close!!

I'd be quite happy if they'd fix their firmware first. After all, they've had suggestions put forward to the "Givenergy Team" for years.....
