My system was commissioned this week, and I did my first charge on my EV overnight last night.
This morning the batter was depleted meaning I was drawing from the grid at the higher daytime rate.
Is there a way to stop the battery charging the EV so that I can just use my EV tariff from the grid?

The GE battery cannot discharge and charge at the same time, so I always charge my GE battery when charging the EV, so that house battery cannot discharge.

There are loads of posts on this but the simplest way seems to be to move the ct clamp so the EV charger is not seen by the inverter. Sometimes easy but your installer should have asked you how you wanted it to work.

anthonypar Thanks. Would I be right in saying that if I schedule the GE battery to charge at the same time at the EV, even if the GE battery is fully charged before the EV it will remain idle?

Robc-165 I think that is the most common practise. If the battery is set to charge that in effect protects it from discharging into the EV. As I am on Octopus Intellegient Go I set my battery to charge from 23:30 to 05:30, currently I set it to 100% as it is cheaper to buy electicity at 7p and then sell my export at 15p rather than use the solar generation to charge my battery. But we probably all have a slightly different approach.

Yes, even if the battery is full, so long as it is still within the charge period it will prevent the battery from discharging. There is also the option of preventing the battery discharging within the portal settings (independent of battery charging) using the 'pause discharge' in the battery control section. Select 'My Inverter' and go to the settings wheel.
