Hi,
I’m on octopus Go Variables tariff and New prices cap will be coming 10% up. And Octpus sending me emails to fix for year.
But I am happy with my current prices.
Anyone who can help out what’s will be best. Fix or variable. Go with solar panels and batteries.
Thank you

Jayesh I expect that the fix they're offering you would be for a flat rate, so almost certainly not what you want, unless you shift very little of your usage to the cheap rate. Do you charge your battery overnight and does it cover most of the daytime usage ?

Go isn't terribly generous for export, though I guess we're now moving out of the part of the year where that's likely to matter as much. I believe Eon Next is a little cheaper than Go, for more cheap hours, and offers better export rates. And I think it might be fixed for 12 months ? (I'm sticking with Octopus for now, though...)

Correction: looks like Eco-7 is available as a fixed rate: 29.41p daytime / 12.33p off-peak, compared with flat rate fix of 23.24p, which are a little more than the current equivalent variable rates. Even if Go was to go up 10% in October, that would still put it (in my region) around 9p overnight, 26p daytime (compared with 23.7p now), which seems a bettter deal.
