I am on Octopus Go and have separate feed to the EV car charger . The tariff has recently been changed so that I am on low rate electricity until 05:30 instead of the original finish time of 04:30. My car charges until 05:30, my invoices show low rate power until 05:30, but my GivEnergy battery changes back to 04:30 every time after I alter it via the Inverter , Settings, Battery Charge option, and closing it with Submit. Querying it previously, I was told this was something to do with Octopus, but they confirm ( and my monthly invoices show) that they have no control over the battery . How can I get my GivEnergy batteries to keep charging for this extra hour.
Battery charging times
charlesh do you have a tariff automation setup in the GivEnergy portal?
Double check all the screens on the portal that you don’t have a charging schedule setup in slot 2, 3 etc.
Geoffreycoan, thank you, but you are messaging a techno know nothing. What is a portal, where would I look for one, and if I find it will slot 2, 3 etc leap out and shout look at me to check for a charging schedule. Any further information will be extremely much appreciated.
charlesh when your installer created your account that you use in the givenergy app on your phone/tablet, that account details can also be used on the givenergy portal to:
- see more detailed information about your inverters, throughput, meter data, etc
- control all of the user accessible things on your inverters
- reset your inverter to a default set of settings in case it has got confused
- see any error/notification logs for your inverters
- upgrade your battery or inverter software
The login is https://givenergy.cloud/dashboard
Then go to ‘my inverters’
Click on your inverter name then on the next screen the little cog symbol and you should be able to see the detailed inverter settings such as slot 2 charging. Your inverter has multiple sets of charging and discharging slots but the app only shows the first one
