Battery offline now no solar!

My system was installed two years ago, worked great until a thunderstorm in May this year there was a lightning strike very close to the house and it seemed it tripped the battery off. I only noticed recently when I got a statement from Scottish Power! At this point i was still getting the benefit of the solar. I have contacted the installer. I switched the battery back on but it will not take a charge so the installer said they will send someone out to give the battery a "boost" the next time they have an engineer passing. All ok. But now it seems the solar is no longer feeding the house! The light on the inverter is flashing green. Has anyone experienced this scenario before - is there anything I can do to at least get the solar back again?

what kit have you got
Suggest isolate the inverter and PV panels and battery by opening all breakers.
Mains at consumer unit.
DC isolators on PV strings
Battery DC output
Inverter AC output
etc.

Turn battery off with button on RHS near top. (on 9.5)

Wait until all lights go out and then turn everything back on and let it all reboot and see what lights are then showing.
Take a look on portal or phone app to see that the inverter comes back online.

Can you use the phone app to put your battery into forced charge mode

SteveCook Thanks! I put the battery in to force charge mode but it still didn't work. The installer said the battery has been offline for too long.

Is the flashing green light a sign of a problem?

Adi if the battery is showing a flashing green light then I think this means it’s not communicating to the inverter (for whatever reason).

The battery can get so fully drained that it doesn’t work and from what I read, the only way round this is to ‘jump start’ the battery with a battery booster pack. There’s an article on this on the Givenergy knowledge base IIRC.

Go to the portal and do a reset to defaults on the inverter.

Power down as before, leave the battery breaker off then power up again in the correct sequence. Do NOT turn the battery breaker on after that, leave it off until the installer comes round.

That should get the PV side working.

Green light flashing on inverter means its idle. It can (IME) get stuck in this condition and require a reboot or (more likely) power down then up.
