Why is My Battery Charging Now?

Eco Mode enabled.
Timed Charge 0030-0430
Timed Discharge0041-0029.

My battery is now charging at full price from the grid. Can't stop it.

I've turned the charging power down successfully, but it's still charging.

It's now at 18% and should be discharging. It's idle now as charging is set at 0.

Did you really mean to set discharge window to 0041 to 0029 or is that a typo? It's essentially set to discharge 24/7 if that's the true value and getting itself in a muddle as its also being told to charge at the same times

Also, if you have eco mode set, you don't need a timed discharge too (I'm not even sure you can have those set at the same time). Enable eco mode, and set a timed charge for when you want to charge. Essentially, with eco mode, if your battery isn't specifically charging then it will discharge to meet the house demand without setting a timed discharge.

per judgepd if both timed charge and discharge are set then eco mode will be off. If looking to boost charge during cheap rate period and then discharge as and when house needs (plus charge from solar) set eco mode to true, timed charge as you have it and disable timed discharge

That is frustrating as it means messing about with the settings every night when I charge my car. With ECO+ and Timed Charge, it still charges the car from the battery during the cheaper periods on Octopus Go, and then the battery hasn't enough time to fully charge before 4.30. Any easy solutions?

The battery will not discharge during a timed charge, so if your battery and car are set to charge at the same time then the battery will not discharge to the car.

The only extra info for this situation is that the battery will discharge during a charge period but only down to it's set percentage. So if you set the battery to charge to 50% and it enters the timed charge period at 75% it will discharge to 50% and then hold there until the timed charge period ends. Conversely if it enters the charge period at 25% it will charge up to the set percentage, say 50%, and then hold there.

Are you able to clarify what rate the battery discharges at, in the example of entering the timed charge period at 75% with a target of 50%?
Is it the full discharge rate so will likely export to grid, or is it at whatever rate is demanded by the household load to still maintain close to 0 kW import/export (ECO mode)?

If you have eco mode on and a timed charge set and nothing else then the battery will only discharge to meet demand. In my example, the battery may not actually reach 50% if you don't have much demand during that period.

At the moment, my timed 'charge' is set to 30% to cover from 4:30 until solar takes over but it isn't ever dropping to that point anyway.
