Solar to battery and then car charger

I’m really finding the app a little ‘unintuitive’.

I thought I had set things up correctly so that the solar array charges the battery and then when that reached 100%, it would automatically start charging the car with excess solar (over 1400w generation).

The battery charged great, but then the car charge didn’t start. 🙄
It looks to me that I have to set a schedule even to charge the car via excess solar? Is that the case?
When I do set a schedule, the car started charging at max charge power but then started taking power from the battery to make up for the shortfall from the solar production, even though the button to ‘stop the battery charging the car’ was turned on…!

I’m very new to this whole ecosystem having come from myenergi and I’m really finding this whole control logic to perform simple tasks overly complicated! Am I the only one?!!

So I have over 5kw of solar generation. Why isn't it being used to charge the car now?!!

Mondriver With my set-up, I set the charger to Eco++ and my GivEnergy system to Eco and let it do the rest.

Once the battery is charged it will attempt to export excess which is then picked up by the Zappi.

I have a Zappi myself but sounds like you now have the GivEnergy EV Charger. If so have you watched this guide to using it?

Sorry, perhaps I wasn't clear.
I used to have a zappi, but have changed that now to a Givenergy charger so everything is under one ecosystem.

So, after a whole load of trial and error, I THINK I've found the solution.

Switching solar output from battery and then EV charger is not automatic!
You have to manually select a priority switch from battery to EV as per the following pic:

Seems a little counterintuitive that this can't be done automatically after the battery is charged, but it seems to be charging the car now using excess solar.

The only thing that's confusing me now is that the battery is also showing over 500w of discharge!

I'm sure you guys that have been using this for some time and quite used to what needs to be set. I'm finding it really quite confusing!
