Has anyone tried the Battery Calibration option in GivTCP ?...be nice to know if it actually does a full discharge and then recharge on its own.
GivTCP Battery Calibration

I've not tried it from GivTCP itself but I have used it from the underlying library fine. (you can now trigger from the portal aswell at a time of your choice should that be better)
I didn't know you could do it from the portal.... just had a look, I take it you just enter a time in the portal and let it do it's thing...thanks for the heads up
Annaka You can just enter a time and it does its thing. Be aware that others have discovered that once you have submitted the calibration request there’s no way to see the submitted request nor to change it.
Do not do it if you have multiple AIO’s ….
thanks for the heads up ...I'm thinking of doing it to my 3.6 Hybrid + 9.5 battery. as its not been calibrated since install nearly two years ago, never updated battery firmware still on the original 3009 ....don't see any point in touching the firmware as all is working fine. Just thought a calibration would ensure the cells stay balanced nicely.
Annaka Bear in mind that the battery temperature will affect the calibration.
In simple terms a warm battery stores more energy than a cold battery.
Ideally the cells want to be around 25C or so before starting a calibration to get an accurate assessment of battery capacity.
Also bear in mind that your PV generation will be throttled back to zero during the discharge section of the calibration so if its sunny then best to export from the battery before starting calibration.
