EV charging preventing battery charging at same time.

To my existing system (GivEnergy 3.68kW inverter, GivEnergy 9.5kWh battery) I’ve recently added a GivEnergy EV charger.
When scheduling the EV to charge at the same time as the battery, only the EV charges.
Also the Android phone app only offers the grid charging instead of 3 options (Solar, Hybrid, Grid) on the GivEnergy Youtube EV charger & App Guide…(even though the configuration “Inverter Control: Grid, Solar, Hybrid (Cloud

Control)” has been selected)…see attached pdf.

I want the EV & battery to charge at the same time and am liaising with the installer & GivEnergy to resolve the issue.
Meanwhile, has anyone here been through the same experience and come out the other side successfully?

Hi @sugarfree - The UI you are seeing for Inverter Control is correct. The screenshots from the YouTube video are from a CT installation, which is a different installation type. If you want to charge from Solar/Hybrid in Inverter Control, simply navigate to Settings and toggle to Enable Solar Charging. Because you are in Inverter Control, your Inverter will send commands to charge the car from Solar when plugged in and generating enough excess Solar.

Alternatively, if you do have a CT Meter, you can navigate to Settings and change your configuration mode to 'With CT Meter' - your UI will be updated to reflect that change.

dbailey Not working. Even using the GE portal and choosing EV Charger > Settings > Advanced Mode > Solar, is to no avail. Currently Solar generation is 3.4kW sending 490W to home and 2.91kW to grid.

sugarfree Are you prioritising solar to your EV in the app? Or checked that your Solar Export Split % to 100% EV using the Portal?

Already tried. Currently on Plug and Go, app giving conflicting info....Charging started 5 minutes ago, 0kW charging rate...and on pressing <Charge>, app offers < Stop Charge > saying 'Are you sure you want to stop this Plug & Charge session?' even though it's not charging. Upon Stopping Charge, the screen reads 'Charging started 1 minute ago at 0kW rate. If then pressing <Charge> the next screen reads 'Are you sure you want to stop this Plug & Charge session?' even though it's not charging.... etc. etc.

Altered control in car and now charging from grid and probably solar...solar flow to car not showing on app dashboard, just shows grid & solar flow to home. How do I see combination of Solar & Grid flow into EV?

sugarfree Great news! If you visit your Home Dashboard in the app, tap the Settings cog icon, you'll be able to toggle EV Charger on. Your EV will then display in the Power Flow.

1) Thanks. Is there a way of seeing it in report form via the portal?
btw when the washing machine stopped, the EV icon lit up with the kWattage.

2) Am still left with early morning EV charging preventing the battery charging at the same time.
And as a GivEnergy staff member you may well have access to my emails of 12th & 13th about this.
