Inconsistency in energy import figures

I have noticed that I have 3 different figures for yesterday's electricity import. I have a 13.5kWh AIO plus gateway and 11 solar panels connected to a 3.6kWh Solis inverter

• The GE app shows 34.0kWh grid import
• My HA Energy dashboard shows 40.9kWh grid import
• The Octopus app gives me a figure of 44.16kWh

The difference between the latter two can be explained by the fact that I have a couple of circuits that are split off before the gateway and are therefore unprotected. One circuit is monitored separately and recorded 2.97kWh and the remainder is plausible for the other circuit.

Obviously, Octopus will be charging me for 44.16kWh and this is a plausible figure, but why is the GE app so far out? Surely they are using the same data as the HA box?

My HA system is running the latest Octopus integration and I am using the latest GivTCP v3

Weasel GE is using an uncalibrated CT clamp, so cannot be entirely accurate. Worth checking that the clamp is fully closed.
GE has a couple of different ways of reporting this stuff. I assume the meter data is more reliable since it's accumulated on the inverter. I have heard that the energy graphs just interpolate the power snapshots.
Possibly because they're trying to apportion not only where the energy came from, but also where it went?

• The GE data has been pretty accurate until now
• Homeassistant gets its data from the GE kit via GivTCP. Surely the HA values should match with GE?

It's not a big issue for me as I have 3 source of the truth 🙂 and if two of them agree, then I'm good
