Hey all

I tried yesterday to turn export mode on to force export at certain time but noticed afterwards once there was no solar being produced that I was pulling electricity from thr grid and on closer inspection eco mode had been turned off.

It appears that you can't have eco and export mode on at same time.

Does anyone know if its possible to export at certain times of the day eg when export prices at highest and also keep eco mode on for the remainder of the day?

You can have export mode and eco mode on at the same time, as mine keeps selecting them on by itself.
I normally want timed discharge on, eco mode off, and export off. However I keep seeing eco mode on, timed discharge off and export on.
Baffles me and I sick of keep changing them to suit.

My settings are consistently Eco Mode=on and Timed Charge, and I have no reason to use Timed Export (old FIT with deemed export). But I understood that if you turn on timed export, it will hold charge until the export period (in other words it will turn off Eco Mode). That's what the description says on the portal anyway: "This mode will hold your battery power and discharge it at full power during a period you define". Eco Mode will discharge to support house load, i.e. it's not going to "hold your battery power". Maybe my memory & the description are wrong though!

DeanoC75 mine seems different. Eco on then timed export on but then turns eco off. I turn eco on then it turns timed export off. I'm confused. I've sent a ticket to givenergy to see if this a bug with thr portal.

Turnipfarmer84 I know in the app, export at full rate & “dynamic” (which I believe is just eco mode renamed) are mixed up so do the opposite.

Turnipfarmer84 Did you manage to get a fix for this, I'm looking to do the same and hitting the same issue.

I've had this for a couple of days now, on Agile Outgoing so wanting to make the most of the 40p/kWh but when I used set the timed export in the portal it turns off Eco mode so meant I was pulling from the grid for a couple of hours last night. Not ideal when the battery was 73% full.

Are we not able to have two modes operating at once, or is this a job for automation?

We've recently released an automation for agile outgoing which is available on the Octopus Smart Tariff card. You can use this to set export to grid between 4-8pm.

This isn't a compete solution but please look forward to more automation features in the future.

Mickey (GivEnergy) Thanks Mickey, I've had a look at it now you mention.

My issue there is that in 4 hours my battery would be fully discharged (only got a 5.2kW for now), it would be great to have an automation that said something like "if a 30 minute slot was >35pkWh, export for that time period, otherwise use eco mode" to ensure I had enough battery to last overnight.

I'll stick in a feature request ticket
