I had a system installed in February so very inexperienced and new to this forum. System was working fine until around 25th October when I noticed that the dashboard is showing the battery on 100% continuously and not discharging, the Grid is showing neutral 0W. Have contacted Givenergy and they went through with me shutting down the inverter and restarting, it comes online but problem still there. Contacted installer to send their electrician but they are stalling and Givenergy suggested sending their engineer but asked installer to complete a form, installer dragging their feet.
Givenergy sent me this __There doesn't seem to be a consistent supply reaching the inverter. It is showing a static reading on the grid terminal voltage at the bottom of the inverter meaning it currently is not on grid.

Anybody experienced similar and what they had to do to resolve the issue?

fatudalaba To me (who doesn't really know what they're talking about) that sounds like two problems... the inverter losing its connection to the grid would presumably require it to assume a power cut, and stop exporting any power to the house. But I'd have thought that the battery would slowly discharge from 100%, since it has to power the inverter itself.

But the measurement of 0W grid activity would be based on the CT clamp around the live wire, not the power supply to the inverter. That reading comes from a small meter that's installed in the consumer unit for your solar system. Ah - but if that little meter had also lost power, I guess that would result in a 0 reading.

Have you checked the breakers / RCD in the CU serving the inverter ? If the meter was on, it would have a small LED / LCD display constantly cycling through various readings. (Well... mine does, at least.)

fatudalaba if you configure a timed export, or export using the quick button at the bottom of the app, does anything happen?

Hi DD - I have checked the RCD and all looks fine, sent a photo to GE as well.

fatudalaba Did you get this resolved ?

Yes, it's all resolved now after the installer's electrician attended and liaised with GE. It's to do with the 3017 Firmware upgrade. All is fine now.
