Coincidentally with the new app launch on 23rd May, my battery charged to 100% and then stayed there! It was not being discharged to run my home overnight / late evening use. So I had 4 or 5 days with after dark power from the grid :-(
I have reset everything to how it should be on the web dashboard - and will be keeping an eye on it to make sure the app does not stop my stored energy from being used again! It could be that the app defaults to 'dynamic' battery discharge mode - but I'm not with Octopus, so I don't need that anyhow?
Im going to set my phone to not auto-update this app in future. I want to know when an update happens so that I can check nothing like this happens again!

Are you sure you didn't hit the pause button at the bottom when looking at the new app? Dynamic mode will charge/discharge according to surplus solar/house demand so the battery wasn't in dynamic mode if it wasn't discharging. In any event isn't that the mode that you want?

I'm getting exactly the same problem. I hadn't updated the app. But when it stopped discharging i thought I had better download the app in case that was the problem. Very frustrating as it was working really well and now i can't figure out a way to use this stored energy.

matt I managed to get the battery to discharge by setting a discharge between time but this just drains the battery right down as for some reason it says discharge to home and "dynamic home" is a setting but it tries to discharge at full power to the grid which then caused an issue with my solar iboost thinking it needed to use it... etc etc... stopped i boost and still smashing it into the grid ta full power what a mess..

matt dynamic and full power on the scheduled part on the app are messed up.
Dynamic just discharges at full power (like you’d think full power would)
Full Power I had hope would do the opposite (I.e Dynamic) but seems to stop PV charging dead.
How this slipped through I’ve no idea but they have some work to do!

Cheers so there isn't a work around unfortunately eco or dynamic aren't working - hopefully they'll have a look and the bugs

You may need to set it back up properly in the Portal instead of the app. I think I had a few issues yesterday when i tried it going back to what I class as "normal" after testing/messing with the discharge schedule in the app.

Sadly Its not that . I have used the portal, tried resetting to defaults, tried restarting inverter. I had hoped it would be fixed with the new update to the app but sadly no. I am currently forcing a discharge at 400W for the overnight so at least we cover some of the use but not dynamically. I put a support ticket on so hopefully they will have a look for me..

Like the new app, but mine doesn't detect the local inverter anymore when I'm on the same WiFi network, so is always in away mode ?

Eamonnogorman I’m having the same issue. The previous version of the app found local in no time.

Eamonnogorman Same here, refuses to connect to local on iPhone & iPad. Previous version of the app was ok.

Is there a IOS update pending for your 'phones/iPads? Sometimes this can stop random things working.

Problem with battery not discharging after latest update - I found that the Discharge Power setting on the web site had been set to 0w, so that although the battery wast set to discharge dynamically on the 'eco' setting, it would only discharge at a max rate of 0w! Reset the rate to 2600w and all is well again - but cant see how to set the discharge rate on the app rather than the website.

AlanH Ahh . . their support said today that they had changed a couple of settings on my inverter. Sadly, they did not tell me what - but I have just checked following your point above and my discharge rate is now set at 3Kw (the max my battery can discharge at) so I hope that tonight my house will run on all that stored energy! The new names for group settings like 'dynamic' just do not read in common sense English like the old systems' 'Store for later use' etc which basically just did what they said they were going to. And there were separate group settings for dynamic as is your electricity provider has a dynamic tariff so let them control the system - which was different from dynamic as in minimise import power. Lets hope the problem was that battery rates were set buy default to zero on the new portal!

ChrisRowe I'm also having this problem - when the dongle will maintain a wifi connection itself that is. I spoke to support about it a couple of days ago, they spoke to developers and apparently they're looking into it and maybe resolving with the next update - fingers crossed, as I'm finding it a right pain atm.

New App...just a backward step...not able to connect to my inverter...back to the abysmal 5min update rate.
Likely I still have the old app running on my tablet...no way am I updating it - that is not until the developers have sorted out connection issue!!

SB900 can you not configure the IP address in the new app?

I’ve just been into my Router and can’t see any sign of the dongle being connected to my WiFi.
How can I connect to it?

+1 for new app not detecting “Home” mode. Manually providing the IP doesn’t work either. Made sure iOS is granting “local network” permissions. Deleted and reinstalled the app. Same on both iPhone and iPad. Turned off things like iOS private MAC and iCloud Relay but no change.

anglefire tried that but still doesn't coonect.... Previous app had no problem
anglefire nothing has changed this side...just the new app!!

SB900 latest app update (today) fixed local mode for me.
