This is a regular occurrence my battery is around 37% at midnight, I put a 100% charge to be made between 2am and 5am, I look it in the morning and it’s only showing battery as sometimes 73% sometimes 87% sometimes 92% I do not understand this logic and my constant use from midnight to 8am is only a maximum of 4 kw, I have e mailed the system administrator a few times now and the system and battery has been calibrated a couple of times now, this system is only 7 months old, has anyone have an

Praf Perhaps start by telling us what sort of system you have, and what firmware.

If this is a recent change, it might be temperature-related - on some versions of the firmware, the charging rate is reduced when the battery is cold.

Praf I think firmware 612 means it's an AIO, so presumably 13.5kWh battery capacity.

The graphs suggest it's only charging at 3.5kW, so in 3 hours it should get 10.5kWh, or 77% of capacity, which ought to be enough to get from 37% to 100% (though I think AIO can charge faster than 3.5kW ?)

Is this a case of poor SoC tracking? Does the battery ever get all the way down to empty ?

I do not understand if I have 37% battery storage at midnight, and import of 12.4kw battery should be full at 8am in the morning or around over 90% but this varies every day which I can’t grasp.
This is happening regularly

DD though I think AIO can charge faster than 3.5kW ?

I have a 6Kw AIO and that can charge and discharge at 6Kw - not sure about the 3.6Kw version though

Praf import of 12.4kw

I assume you mean 12.4kWh. How do you get that figure ? The charging power appears to be less than 4kW for 3 hours.

Today is same 12.4kw import with only at 74% battery capacity

Praf Yes, you were importing a total of 12.4kWh, but some of that was going directly on consumption. Average import was around 4.1kW, but only about 3.5kW of that was going into the battery.

I know but I had a 37% battery at midnight, assume I have 20% left at 2am when the import was taking place then that 20% should have covered the useage and the battery should be more that 90% full

No need to assume - you should be able to see the battery capacity at 2am from the app or portal.

If you suppose charging losses of 10%, 10.5kWh (3.5kW x 3 hours) works out about 70% of a 13.5kWh battery. So if you add 70% charge to the 20% you start with, that gets you to 90%.

Praf the charts from 11th and 13th show a rectangular charging block, whereas on the 12th the charging power seems to drop off gradually. The resolution on those charts is too low to be exactly when that was happening. Was there anything different about the 12th ?

The graphs from the web portal are possibly more useful than from the app - you can choose which elements to include, such as battery SoC and temperature. Can also zoom into the period in question.

Ok I will try and monitor I have asked Givenergy as to look into the matter, the system and battery has been calibrated a couple of times now but no resolution yet, will keep trying
