Inverter Offline

Our inverter has been offline since yesterday. Have done a full system restart but no change. Have tried to restart the inverter via the online dashboard but it times out. Any ideas on how to get it back online?

Try rebooting your Wi-Fi router?

If that doesn’t work, try powering the kit off and on again.

Best to do that when there’s no heavy loads going through it. Shutdown and startup procedure should be in your handover pack or search for the install manual on google.

Yes - that needs the inverter to be online in order to send it a message.

Either the local wifi link from the inverter to your router has failed, or the link over the network to the servers has failed. Are you able to see from your router whether the inverter is connected on wifi? If you use android, the free monitor app https://givenergymonitor.wixsite.com/tutorials connects directly over your local network (as does the BBC Basic app on iOS), so that's another way to test whether the local bit is working.

I used to have issues like this frequently. I then decided to use a cable to connect via LAN rather than WiFi. I’ve had no issues since doing that 6 months ago. Think there is a YouTube video from GivEnergy about this

I have found the instructions for logging into the wifi dongle in the inverter. I have checked all of the settings and it is connected to the internet. But I still cannot restart the inverter as it still says it is offline

Jenny I think that when you're connected to the wifi dongle, you can restart it. (Device Mangement menu.)
Might be worth giving that a go. (Saves powercycling the entire inverter.)
