Solar power not charging the battery

Hi, I'm currently generating between 3 and 4 kW from solar, but it is not being exported, nor is it charging the battery. Any idea what the problem might be, or where I might find diagnostic information?

AdrianBall65 Are you sure? It looks from the graph as if most of the solar is being exported? You are generating 3.8kW, consuming .5kW and exporting 3.3

Thanks CW. You're quite right. (The red export area was hidden behind the yellow solar power).
However the other thing that I'm curious about is why the stored power on the battery (5.2kwh) wasnt consumed at 6am when I needed the power for breakfast etc. Instead it looks like a spike of grid power was needed.

I see the same as CW above the battery is at 100% and at idle so won't charge anymore. Another thing to ask is whether you expect the battery to run the consumption at this time of day? If so you need to check if the inverter settings are on "eco"

Still, lucky you, generating 3.8kw I am generating zero at the moment as the panels are covered in 6 inches of snow.

AdrianBall65 You often get a grid spike when you turn a kettle or similar load on and the inverter takes a moment to catch up.

As I said above you need to check your inverter settings if you are expecting the battery to cope with the consumed load. It needs to be in "eco" mode.

killythebid Sunny Sussex :-) The inverter is set to Eco.

After a bit of digging around on the Inverter Settings pages - I think I've just solved the problem. Despite the battery being shown as fully charged on the dashboard, it wasn't. I updated the firmware version, and hey presto the battery is now charging from the excess solar power rather than exporing all to the grid. Whether this is as a result of the firmware upgrade or the fact that the inverter reboots arter an upgrade, I dont know. I'm just happy it's now working. Thanks for all your help.

AdrianBall65 It'll be running a calibration if you updated firmware, so it'll charge to 100%. Hopefully you have enough solar for that, otherwise it'll use the grid.
