Battery won't come on

I've already started a support call but I wondered if anyone might have a clue about this. My battery has completely shut down and will not come back on. There are no lights on the battery at all. If I press the on/off button on the side, it beeps, a green light comes on, then a few seconds later it makes a series of ticking/clicking noises then the light goes red and it shuts off.

And the sun had the nerve to be out all weekend too :-(

🤣 @judgepd - Bang on!
Why's it always a lovely day, when things go wrong - or after you've done an overnight charge on the batteries?! 😄

judgepd mine is oding the same. Did you get a resolution to this ?

kwmc Givenergy had to come out and replace something in the inverter, not sure exactly what, I think a circuit board of some kind.

Well that would make sense in that it doesn't happen if the battery is disconnected from the inverter at the DC breaker.

kwmc Yes, that was exactly the same as mine. The battery would come on with the DC breaker off and then as soon as you turned it on the battery would click a few times and turn off.

judgepd exactly the same has just happened to one of my two 5.2kWh batteries

judgepd did you get yours fixed? Givenergy are saying they need to invoice my installer before they arrange a team to come and fix.

GrahamRead Yes, Givenergy came out and fixed it a few days after I reported it without any cost to me. Do you have an inverter per battery as if the fault was with the inverter like mine it would surely stop both batteries from working?

judgepd one inverter. Might be as the batteries look like they are wired up as master and slave in terms of comms, but not sure. It's the one connected to the inverter (for comms) that's failing. Not sure if it's a battery problem or the inverter - but hopefully Givenergy team can visit and determine/fix.

In the interests of completing a thread...

Shout out to the GivEnergy support / field team, really excellent support both online and in the field. It's never just about the kit but also what support wrap is around it when things go wrong. System up and running again after 2 visits from GivEnergy engineers. Inverter failure, probably caused by lack of correct DC cable installation / arcing. (yes my installer had to support with costs).
