Hi

A question for you if OK! Hopefully I'm not the only one with this request -

There's no Boost battery button in the app!

I'd like a 'boost' button or method to force charge the battery for , say, 1hr to take advantage of cheap rate when it occurs.

(Background: we have a 9.5kwh givenergy battery and the app. It's schedule is set to charge the battery up to max every night, using octupus agile cheap rate . We have an EV. The car tops itself up at agile timings, on cheap rate, all good.)

So, if we have emptied the battery it'd be great to have an option to boost an hours charge into the battery, to take advantage of that overall cheap rate.. cheapening the entire house consumption as well as the EV

I can of course manually change the Givenergy schedule in the app, and back again afterwards, which works. but thats a bit 'retentive even for me.

I guess Home assistant probably could to do it when it sees the car charging, but that seems a little complicated, and I dont have a fast charger.

is there a 3rd party app or a web page method to boost the battery for an hour? Then reset to original schedule?

TIA for pointers !

You need to enable quick settings in the app then you will be able to charge, discharge and pause the battery.

He's right!

Why didnt I see that option! Doh.

Is it, as I think, a dumb toggle ON and OFF / revert to schedule?

Note for GE - Please, it would be even better if GE gave us a 1hr boost button.

Thank you!

anthonypar Bugger me, I lost that button ages ago and now I learn that it was tucked away all the time. It feels like Christmas has come early.

Agreed, a one hour boost would be great. Until then set a reminder on your phone.
