We have recently had our 1 year old AIO replaced (it is a long story…).

When discharging, it will not drop below 15%, even though I’ve set a Reserve of 10% through the Portal and checked it through the App.

Looking in Invertor Settings/Remote Control (cog icon top tight), it shows Battery Reserve correctly set to 10%, but CutOff set to 15%!!!

Any idea what Battery Cutoff does? What % does your AIO show for Battery Cutoff?

I suspect Battery Cutoff was set in error at some point, and should be a much lower value like 4%.

I’ve tried asking GE… ....and .....waiting....

Battery Reserve - What the System will stop at during normal operation UNLESS you have a power cut, where it will keep operating down to the Battery Cut Off value

Battery Cut Off - what the system will stop discharging at in ALL circumstances.

so cut off being higher is overruling your reserve, hence why it's stopping at 15%. Normal is 4%

AndyNT Cutoff does what it says - stops discharge. Its independent of the battery reserve.

Set it to a lower value than the reserve value.

Basically imagine you lose grid power - battery reserve is used to power EPS circuits but if you're off-grid for a long while you don't want the battery going so flat it requires an engineer visit. So you might set the reserve to 10% and the cutoff to 6% for example, gives a bit of backup power time and gives a lot more time to preserve the last power reserves in the battery.

Edit - hoggy got there first 🙂

Thanks Vestas, Hoggy.

That's what I thought but couldn't find anyone to confirm it. I didn't want to start messing with values 'blindly'.

I'll lower Cutoff to 4%. The installing engineer must have accidentally set the wrong variable when he commissioned our replacement AIO.

Cheers, Andy

AndyNT If you go to My Inverter->Settings on the portal you'll find a Reset to Defaults button. That's your friend if you think you've set something wrong.

Don't be afraid of trying things on the portal/app, you won't have access to any controls which will damage anything.
