Is there any functionality in the app (or can it be built in) that the battery is being charged remotely from the grid?
Over the last couple of weeks (after BB went live) it charges the battery overnight to 90%. However today (23rd) there was an afternoon session for about an 90 minutes.
it would be useful to have an alert via SMS or email.

As far as I know, GivEnergy app does not give any notifications about change of charging state. If you code, you can program this using GivEnergy API in Python + Telegram notifications. I did something like this in Telegram:
Only scheduled notifications, I charge battery every night, so no need to react on charging state change, but it can be easily added.

You could certainly knock this kind of notification up in Home Assistant quite easily, but would require a PC or Raspberry Pi running all the time to host the Home Assistant. Or subscribe to the HA cloud service
But nothing out of the box with the GivEnergy app or Portal.

Thanks for the reponses but I'm afraid my programming skills end at flicking through the Radio Times.
I suppose I can log it with the OVO and Givenergy Android App as an additional feature.
How difficult could it be to set up an alert?

agree it would be a good additional feature if any of the app developers see this.
