New Battery set up

Hi Everyone. We have just had the batteries installed with our Solar Panels. I am keen to try and set up that the power generated from the Solar Panels goes to the battery first and fills that before going off to the Grid. Is that something I can set up and if so how?

Also noticed our supplier (Octopus) are currently taking energy from the battery at random times (often during the day at the higher rate) even when the battery it is not full. Is this something I can change so they only take energy when the battery is full?

Hi there. Your system should be doing that automatically, dynamic is the default mode. Also your battery should not be discharging the grid unless you tell it to. Well with exception of when the system has to balance itself you might see a tiny bit of export from the battery. I sometimes catch the screen showing 100watts or something going from the battery to the grid.

I think Octopus take over the settings, to feed back power when they deem it necessary.

If you can, set it to Default, which is Dynamic, which preserves your battery as best as it can and minimises grid pull and push
