I'm used to getting my weekly and monthly usage report emails from Givenergy and wondered if there's an option for an annual report?

I have just received a link to my annual report for 2024. I also get monthly reports but I can't remember how or when I signed up for them.

CW Thanks for the reminder, I just got the email about my monthly and annual reports being available.

Thought I’d take a look at the annual report, at first glance the headline 9,400kWh generated seemed about right but when I checked it against my own spreadsheet, I’ve actually generated 7,588kWh this year.

I had one of my inverters replaced in May under warranty and that resulted in the running total portal meter readings for generation and battery charge/discharge being zero’d, so maybe that was the cause of the difference, but no:

The spike is in June not May and all of the other months generation are way lower than they should be.

Consumed the most in July? Massive grid import in June?

These are all rubbish I’ll untick the boxes and stop generating them.

Mine says that through the year I put 1,849.27 kWh into my battery, and took 3,214.74 kWh out of it.

Physics called, it wants its laws back 😆

geoffreycoan Weird.

All my reports have been very good but I have been on the same inverter since my initial installation in August 2022. I had a 2nd battery added in April 2023 but this made no difference to the reports, apart from recording more solar.

As the 'brains' of the setup lies in the inverter, this would make sense.
Although that dongle arrangement for collecting wi-fi info does seems to be of limited brain size

In your setup, I think your two inverters are both hybrid and I know that you have a different battery connected to each. Are the inverters the same?
I would guess that for 2 hybrid inverters would each be connected to their own string(s).
How would 2 AC coupled inverters be connected to the PV inverter? This seems to be the only way for me to realistically enhance my setup, doubling my import and export rates and allowing each battery to be better managed that when daisy-chained.

I have waited about 4 months for Northern Powergrid to come back with my request for a greater export allowance. I also know from forum posts of the potential pitfalls of a multi-inverter setup.

I have two Gen 1 5kW hybrid inverters, each with 2 strings on, and each with their own batteries although they are different sizes, one 9.5 and one 5.2kWh.

I also have a separate older 4kW FIT AC inverter

Basically each of the GivEnergy hybrid inverters charges and discharges its own battery, using principally PV from its connected strings. However since the fast response firmware 191/193 the inverters also have AC-coupled capability so if they see excess electricity going out to the grid they can convert that to DC and charge their batteries.
So this means the two inverters will together capture the FIT array generation if it’s not being used by the house.

It does introduce cross charging as one inverter sees excess grid export so starts charging, the other sees a slight grid import so starts discharging, etc. In practice this only really happens overnight when there’s no PV and the inverter with the 9.5 battery gently discharges and fills the 5.2 battery.

But back to the graphs, the root cause of my weird graphs is having two inverters which the GivEnergy app and reports don’t understand. This was part of my reason for getting HA in the first place as the graphs and figures were always rubbish.

Much the same. Remember your AC coupled inverters don’t need to be actually connected to the PV inverter. They are connected to the home with a CT clamp around the grid meter tails. Your PV inverter is also connected to the home, my FIT inverter is in fact connected into the house fusebox.
