AIO & EV 240v 1kWh socket coupling

Hi All

I have had a scan and not seen this request directly asked.

My next EV is likely to have a 1.5 kWh AC socket, and as I work from home my thinking is I could use this coupled to the Battery to supply power to it to as such trickle charge it and effectively add around 10-15 extra kWh's into the home mix for future use - see its as mini V2H.

Anyone discussed this with installer, GE, or have views on this - as logically it seems viable being a AC coupled system.

Do you mean a 1.5 kW socket (i.e. around 6A at 240v), or that it's somehow got a portion of the battery reserved for V2L purposes?

Either way, any kind of V2L is ok in isolation (i.e. it's ultimately just a regular 3-pin socket that you plug stuff into), but if you wanted to mix that with a mains circuit that's supplied from elsewhere (e.g. the grid) then however you join it in will need to be able to synchronise the 50Hz sine wave, which isn't trivial. That's what the Wallbox chargers that support V2G do (are they chademo only?), but I don't know of any other kit that does it.

I think you'll need to add a Victron (Quattro or Multiplus, I forget which can pull this trick) which can blend a generator source (i.e. your V2L) into a grid tied waveform first. It's not just a case of hooking the car up to a socket.

Yeah so V2L but not trying to tie it to grid at all just top up battery. Logic is that the battery can take a DC charge from solar and has to convert that to AC to charge the battery so tap into that somehow.

Other idea is could I run AC through Rectifier to convert it to DC and then treat it as solar feed?
