Sadly, we now live in a time where mobile phone apps are the only option that octopus/Givenergy use to manage linking your battery up. And sadly, mobile phone apps are the worst, least user friendly and most buggy software to rely on.
When trying to link the battery through the octopus app, it passes me over to the GE app to sign in, which then presents the authorisation page to link the battery. And none of the buttons do anything when pressed.
Why do companies rely on mobile apps, or not at least present you with regular browser alternatives that can be done on a normal computer? It must be maddening for people who are older or have accessibility requirements, I'm in my 40s and am sick with mobile phone apps.
I've got in touch with both parties to complain about it, and have gotten the usual formulaic and entirely tangential reply from octopus, but in this case I think the fault lies with GE.
